Every day, patients at University Health Network’s (UHN’s) Toronto Rehab undergo rehabilitation to overcome the challenges of debilitating health conditions, helping them thrive and reach their full potential. As a continuation of their care journey after receiving treatment at UHN or elsewhere, patients come to Toronto Rehab to regain their strength, relearn vital life skills and discover new ways to approach daily tasks so they can return to their lives.
Now, you might be asking yourself, how can I support this meaningful work taking place at Toronto Rehab?
The answer is simple: Rally for Rehab!
Rally for Rehab, presented by BMO, is a family-friendly fundraising event to support UHN’s Toronto Rehab and help patients reclaim their independence after life-altering health events. On September 10, 2023, join us for an accessible walk and get ready to move your way in support of research, education and patient care at Toronto Rehab.
Here are five great reasons why you should Rally for Rehab:
1. Rally for loved ones
Rally for Rehab is a fun and exciting way to gather in support of friends and family who have benefited from rehabilitation at some point in their lives. By participating, you are making an impact on the future of the patient rehabilitation journey. We encourage you to share why you are rallying on social media by tagging us @UHNfoundation, using the hashtag #RallyforRehab2023 and to help spread the word about why rallying is important to you!
2. Fuel research
Donor support is essential to research at UHN. With your involvement, you will be helping UHN researchers at Toronto Rehab’s KITE Research Institute discover new treatments and solutions to support the patient rehabilitation journey.
3. Family-friendly activities
Get the whole family moving! As a family-friendly event, we will have onsite activities for kids and a fully accessible walk. Choose the route that is best for you and your family – both a short walk and a long walk route will be available.
4. Boost your mental health
Paying it forward through acts of kindness is known to improve your mental health. Rally for Rehab is a great way to support a meaningful cause while staying active! Nothing is more rewarding than making a difference in the lives of others.
5. Accessible for all
Rally for Rehab is accessible for all and all fitness abilities are welcome. Join us at Toronto Rehab’s Rumsey Centre for activities including an opening ceremony with warm-ups and stretching, plus an accessible walk. Can’t attend the walk? Join us virtually!
