Mr. John MacIntyre is Partner Emeritus of Birch Hill Equity Partners, a leading Canadian private equity firm. He continues to be a representative of Birch Hill on portfolio company boards offering advice and support. He co-founded Birch Hill in 2005, and prior to that co-founded the Canadian mid-market Private Equity Group within TD Capital, Birch Hill’s predecessor organization.
From 1995 to 2004, Mr. MacIntyre was President of TD Capital and Head of TD Global Private Equity business, and at TD Securities.
Mr. MacIntyre is currently on TD Bank’s Board of Directors, the Board of Park Lawn Corporation and has served on several corporate boards, including CCM Hockey, HomeEquity Bank, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, and Softchoice.
Mr. MacIntyre has served on the philanthropic boards of YMCA of Greater Toronto, Community Foundations of Canada, Toronto Foundation, Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation, St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation, and Calmeadow Foundation.
Mr. MacIntyre is past Honorary Colonel of the 48th Highlanders of Canada and serves on their Senate. He is also
a recipient of the King’s Coronation Medal, the Queen’s University Alumni Association Humanitarian Award as well as the CVCA Community Leadership Award.
Mr. MacIntyre is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, a Chartered Business Valuator and holds a B. Comm. (Honours) from Queen’s University.
Mr. MacIntyre is co-chair of UHN Foundation’s surgical tower campaign.
