Ms. Barbara Muir is a former executive at BMO Financial Group where she led a team of legal and other professionals supporting enterprise initiatives and served as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors of Bank of Montreal.

Barbara learned firsthand about the incredible expertise and work at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute when she regained mobility at its Lyndhurst Centre following a motor vehicle accident which resulted in a cervical spinal cord injury and paralysis.  She served as a member of the Toronto Rehab Foundation Board from 2016-2021, and as Chair of two of its Committees for different periods during that time, prior to the amalgamation with Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, at which time she became a member of the Board of directors of UHN Foundation. 

Barbara currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Human Resources Committee.
