Meet your experts
Serena Hak is a Wealth Advisor at CI Private Wealth who works with high-net-worth families to align their wealth with their values. With more than 15 years of experience, she specializes in integrated financial and philanthropic planning—designing tax-efficient giving strategies, preparing the next generation and supporting families as they shape their long-term legacy.
Her insights on wealth and generosity have been featured in The Globe and Mail and The National Post’s Guide to Charitable Giving. Serena holds the Master Financial Advisor – Philanthropy (MFA-P™) designation and is a recognized national voice on the future of wealth and giving, frequently speaking to organizations across North America.
Beyond her advisory practice, Serena serves as Chair of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners Board of Directors and plays active leadership roles with Benefaction Foundation, AMREF Canada, and The National Ballet of Canada.
In her spare time, Serena enjoys sailing and spending time with her beagle, Bogart.
Candice Jay has over 17 years of experience in the financial industry and is a Partner and Wealth Advisor at CC&L Private Capital. Her practice guides and works with charitable foundations and high net worth clients to achieve their unique financial goals and strategies. Strategic philanthropy is also an important part of Candice’s client conversations and she is passionate about helping clients identify values and areas where philanthropy can play a role. She has extensive experience helping business owners, generational families and women, further along their financial positioning and legacy.
Candice also plays leading roles in the charitable community and is the current President of the University of Toronto Alumni Association and one of the founders of the UHN Foundation – UHN Impact Collective. She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and leads engagement and mentorship for professional advisors across Canada.
In her spare time, Candice enjoys playing golf and tennis, and being in nature with her family and golden retriever, Maggie.
