John Berton is Co-Founder of Georgian, where he leads Investor Relations and Capital Formation, as well as the firm’s legal and financial functions. He also serves on Georgian’s Investment Committee.

Before founding Georgian, John served as CEO of a high-growth software company for five years, and prior to that spent five years at a merchant bank where he originated and accelerated a broad range of investments. He brings a rare combination of operating experience, financial expertise, and deep LP relationships to his role.

John holds a CFA designation (1998), a BSc from Queen’s University, and a degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. He previously served on the Board of the Canadian Venture Capital Association.
