Rally for Rehab recap

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2022 Rally for Rehab Presented by BMO! It was incredible travelling over 6,000 km in just five days, to raise more than $200,000 in support of Toronto Rehab and KITE Research Institute at University Health Network this year!

Toronto Rehab is conducting game-changing research through KITE Research Institute, the number-one rehabilitation institute in the world. Scientists at KITE are redefining rehabilitation, developing revolutionary tools, technologies and treatments that help patients reach their rehabilitation goals faster.

Rally for Rehab engages people of all abilities and activity levels to move in a way that is meaningful to them. Fundraising and participation in this initiative is one of the greatest ways to impact more patients through research happening at KITE.

Events like Rally for Rehab support patients like John Ruffolo, who was at Toronto Rehab after a cycling accident in September 2020.

“The people at Toronto Rehab are quite remarkable,” shares John, highlighting that his care team really understood what he was going through and supported him in becoming independent again, mentally and physically.

He also shares his interest in the research arm of Toronto Rehab, especially the development of ideas and treatments that can help spinal cord patients. “Seeing what these technologies might do for me perhaps today or sometime in the future… once again gave me hope,” describes John.

Funding support can make significant impacts on the care patients receive in their rehabilitation journey. Listen to John’s entire conversation with Dan Barclay, CEO & Group Head at BMO Capital Markets, HERE.

We hope that this year’s Rally for Rehab empowered you to move in a way that you enjoy, especially after two years of being at home. We’d like to thank everyone who participated in this event, who demonstrated their gratitude and support for Toronto Rehab and KITE, UHN. You’ve made a lasting impact on the lives of patients and your contributions ensure we can continue our mission to build a healthier world for all.

We hope you’ll join us next year!
