On November 1, 2023, Mr. Daniel Barclay retired as CEO and Group Head of BMO Capital Markets, where he was responsible for all of BMO’s interactions with corporate, government and institutional clients in global markets. Prior to that, he served as co-head of the firm’s Global Investment & Corporate Banking, including oversight of equity and debt underwriting, corporate lending and project financing, mergers and acquisitions advisory services and global trade and banking. He has over 31 years of investment banking experience in a broad range of industries.
In 2023, Mr. Barclay was named Male Ally of the Year by the Financial Women’s Association (FWA), recognizing his contributions to FWA’s mission to promote the professional development and advancement of all women through education, mentorship, scholarships, networking, and alliances across the financial community. He also received an Ontario Volunteer Service Award in recognition of 30 years of service to the United Way of Greater Toronto and has been recognized as a Champion of Change by Women in Capital Markets. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada.
Mr. Barclay holds an MBA from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta.
