In keeping with the visionary leadership and generosity shown to UHN for decades, the Peter and Melanie Munk Charitable Foundation is poised to transform the entrance to Toronto General Hospital and the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. Inspired by Peter Munk’s belief that a world-renowned centre deserves a world-renowned entrance, the Munk Entrance Redevelopment Fund will significantly enhance the patient and staff experience.
Creating a lasting first impression
The hospital entrance is the first point of contact for patients and their families, setting the tone for their health care journey. Once redeveloped, this space will feature a design that reflects the exceptional care and commitment that defines the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, ensuring visitors immediately sense the priority placed on their well-being and peace of mind.
Thanks to this transformative investment, the new entrance will feature modern overhangs designed to streamline and improve patient drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring safety and convenience. The use of light and glass will create a welcoming, bright and airy atmosphere, reinforcing a sense of openness.
