Watch: Ajmera Transplant Centre, once again the largest in North America

In 2019, teams at the Ajmera Transplant Centre conducted 701 life-saving transplant procedures – the most in North America, topping large centres in the US like UCLA Medical Centre in California and the Mayo Clinic in Cleveland. The record-breaking number included 170 living donor transplants at the Centre for Living Organ Donation within the Ajmera Transplant Centre.

Despite caring for the most complex patients, patient outcomes at the Ajmera Transplant Centre are the best in the world, allowing more people to Live On. Those individuals include Michael Cleary (patient 700), who received a living donor liver transplant on December 31.
“A feel like a billion dollars, it’s changed my whole thought process and approach to life,” says Michael. “I want to pay it forward…I want to be able to give back.”

The accomplishment, and Michael’s story, was featured in a recent story on CTV News:
